AVSnap is the software package developed by ALTINEX for AV design and control. AVSnap allows users to interface with RS-232 or TCP/IP devices. This instruction describes the steps on how to set up AVSnap for controlling a MultiTasker.
1. First, determine which port is available for communication on your computer.
If you are using a USB-to-RS-232 adapter, check which COM port is assigned to this adapter.
To check COM port assignment, follow these steps:
a. From the Start menu, right click on My Computer.
b. Select Properties, and then select Hardware Tab.
c. Click on Device Manager.
d. Click on the + sign next to Ports.
2. This will show you the ports assignments.
3. Download and install AVSnap from this location www.avsnap.com.
4. Start the AVSnap application and select Communication mode by pressing on the Telephone Icon.

5. In Communication mode, AVSnap has two windows: the left is the Terminal window and right is the Notepad window.
The Terminal window allows typing commands directly and they are immediately transmitted to the corresponding device. In Notepad window, the user can write all of the commands and send them out one at a time, all commands together, or only selected commands.
6. To set up the terminal, double click on the Terminal or Notepad window.

Set everything as shown on the above image. After that click OK.
7. To connect terminal to the RS-232 port Click on the text on the bottom of the screen or right click on the terminal and select Connect.

Right click on the Terminal window and select Connect/Disconnect
8. To transmit data from Notepad to Terminal use F3 key. Depending on the cursor position, different data will be transmitted to Terminal.
If cursor is on the beginning of the file, all data is transmitted.

If cursor is in any other position, you can select if you want to transmit all data or from cursor forward.

If selection is made, then only selection is transmitted.
